Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American celebrity chef on television and former instructor in the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell is host of the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef along with being co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef featuring her distinctive sparkling blonde locks, and her bubbly up appearance, offers basic techniques anyone can grasp. Chef Burrell was employed at some of the most prestigious New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and geography. Additionally, she competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was fascinated by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her following graduation with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America student. I loved every minute of it." It was hard to study, do or work enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. In her time in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the history and principles of Italian cuisine and its culture, which has had a profound impact in her perspective. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children who are struggling. In her capacity as a guest speaker and instructor, she travels across the U.S. to share her love for cooking and career. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has always said I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my true passion for life with people.
